Venerable Mary (called Marinus in monasticism) of Alexandria

Mary disguised herself as a man in order to enter a monastery with her father St. Eugene, and was given the name Marinus. Her sex was not discovered by the brothers there until after her death.

Greatmartyr Marina (Margaret) of Antioch in Pisidia

The daughter of a pagan priest, Marina was disowned when she became a Christian. She was arrested at age 15 during the persecution under Diocletian. The local governor wanted to marry her, but she refused his offer and would not renounce Christ, so he had her brutally tortured and finally beheaded.
